SHOW PROGRAM

Jaan Roose Slackline Show

Slackliner Jaan Roose recently set a world record with his tricks in Tallinn between two high towers. During his record attempt he was 117 metres from the ground and he was the first person in the world to do a backflip this high in the air. Sounds thrilling, doesn’t it? You can see Jaan’s tricklining with your own eyes at Tallinn International Horse Show.

A slackline resembles a lashing strap, but it’s a specially designed line with specific technology and elasticity. Jaan started tricklining almost seven years ago. He has already won several prestigious competitions and performed as an artist at Madonnas’s „MDNA” tour. Before slacklining, the currently 25 year old Roose practised parkour for five years; this was also a new and increasingly popular sport.

Jaan trains at least two hours daily. He considers participation in Madonna’s  „MDNA” tour and coming second in an internet-based video contest in 2010 to be his greates achievements, aside from the wold records, of course.

Jaan will perform at the Horse Show on Friday evening at 19.10.

What is slackline?

Slacklining originated from American rock climbers in the early 80s who decided to use climbing gear for setting up their lines to practise balance in their spare time. Slackline differs from other types of balancing in that it uses flat polyester/nylon hybrid blend webbing which, depending on qualities of the material and applied tension, bounces under the foot.

 Sissi and the Band

On Friday evening, October 5, Sissi Nylia Benita, well known from the TV show  „Eesti otsib superstaari”, will step on the „sky stage” of  the Tallinn International Horse Show. This will be the first and hopefully not the last performance of the vivacious young woman and her band at our event. Sissi’s voice and soulful performances leave no-one cold. Beside her father Dave Benton, Sissi has sung almost her whole life. Her dream is to win the Eurovision song contest like her father some day. In addition to singing and songwriting, Sissi paints, draws, designs tattoos and is passionate about the art of makeup. She also loves to read and write poems.

Estonia 100 Horse Show

The highlight of Saturday’s entertainment programme is a show dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia. Both folk dancers and horses perform in the show. Will there be a hundred horses in the arena? Come and find out!

Small Ponies

The small pony quadrille is an inseparable part of the entertainment programme of the Tallinn International Horse Show  and the youngest spectators always look forward to it. Every year, the tiny horses and small riders capture the hearts of Horse Show audience with the sincerity of their performance. Tradition continues this year and thus we can cheer on the adorable ponies again on Friday and Saturday.

Jüri Pootsmann

The headliner of the show programme on Sunday, October 7 is Jüri Pootsmann. Jüri rose to fame as a shining star in Estonian music scene by winning the TV show „Eesti otsib superstaari”. (Estonia searches for a superstar). Afterwards Jüri represented Estonia at the Eurovision contest with a song called „Play”.

Jüri’s distinctive timbre of voice and slightly mysterious aura set him apart from  multitude of other artists. The lineup of Jüri Pootsmann’s band during the Horse Show will consist of Joonas Mattias Sarapuu (keyboard), Pent Järve (guitar), Siim Avango (bass guitar) and Hans Kurvits (drums). Jüri Pootsmann’s latest single  “Jagatud saladus” (Shared Secret) featuring Elina Born is currently one of the most played  songs in Estonia.
